History
Manor House Hotels and Irish Country Hotels are the public brand names for the company and the registered name CMV Provident Society is limited to administration and management functions only. Each subsidiary brand is marketed as representing a specific type and style of hotel.
Founded in 1984 by Bord Failte in conjunction with the Irish Tourist Board, with the principle objective of providing small family hotels with a vehicle to access the international tourism market.
Many of the properties have unique histories to tell dating back as far as 1700 - Cabra Castle 1750, Churchtown House 1703, Dundrum House 1730, Dunraven Arms 1792 to name but a few.
