There are a variety of ourdoor pursuits available while staying at the Bayview Hotel. The hotel are always happy to help out with arranging your day. Fota Wildlife Park - Located near Cobh the Park is among the most modern wildlife parks in Europe with over 80 species from 5 continents. Also visit Fota Arboretum where you will find a particularly good collection of trees and shrubs from China, Japan, Australia and the Himalayas.

Deep Sea Fishing - The hotel can help organise a half day or full day fishing with prior notice and the hire of rods and tackle. The main fish for the summer season is pollock, ling, conger, cod, turbot, skate, blue shark and spotted dog. Another gem to experience while staying in Ballycotton is the stunning cliff walk where you will breath the purest of sea air while gazing over the endless Atlantic Ocean.

If the day is wet, there is no need to worry, take a drive to nearby Midleton and visit the James Heritage Centre, home of 'Paddy' and 'Jameson' Irish whiskey. Or a trip to Cobh and call to see Saint Coleman's Cathedral, a 19th century Gothic-style cathedral which has a 49 bell carillon and is the largest in Ireland. Also, you cannot leave Cobh without visiting the Titanic Memorial dramatically recalled in the "Queenstown Story". Of course we always find time to shop. You will be spoilt for choice with Stephen Pearce Pottery at our doorstep. See the potters at work and visit all the other Irish craft rooms at the Gallery. Ballymaloe Cookery School offer wonderful courses, 12 week couses and shorter courses, they also run a craft and kitchenware shop. Midleton, only 15 minutes away is a continuously developing town with plenty of shops, lovely cafes and restaurants and if you are around on a Saturday morning you will love the Farmers Market from 10am to 2pm.
