Built in the early 1800s Zetland Country House is situated overlooking Cashel Bay in the heart of Connemara surrounded by acres of garden. The House originally built as a sporting lodge derives its name from the Earl of Zetland, a regular guest and Lord Viceroy to Ireland in the last century.
Antique furnishings and panoramic sea views have recreated the charm and elegance of those days combined with the sophisticated luxury expected by discerning guests. The cuisine, with an emphasis on local seafood, is second to none. Tennis and snooker are available on the grounds. Local attractions include the Aran Islands, Inish Bofin Island, Kylemore Abbey, Roundstones sandy beaches and the Connemara National Park
Clifden, Galway, Roundstone and Westport are some of the towns and villages to visit. Local activities include golf, horseriding, game fishing, sea angling, hunting, cycling, guided walks and heritage tours. Zetland Country House is owned and managed by Colm J. Redmond who assures you of a warm welcome and personal attention. The restaurant has two AA Rosettes.

We cater for a select number of weddings each year. Many wedding parties take over the entire Hotel for a second or third day, making the Zetland your very own private estate for your special day. Your wedding guests have the complete run of the house for the period and this allows your friends and family the opportunity and time to either catch up or get to know each other in a relaxed and informal setting in Connemara, Galway.
